Orla’s Portfolio

You can make a difference to our journey by commissioning your very own painting.

My Art Journey

The first drawing I can remember being proud of, was a coloured pencil drawing of a lovely bay horse I drew for my Granny when I was 9. I had erased and re-drawn the head so many times, you could see where the paper had worn away from my need to make it as perfect as possible (a rather self-deprecating trait my Art teachers can attest too!). From then I always leant towards the creative arts and continued my love for detailed, realism painting throughout secondary school, taking it right up to A-Level.

Despite then following a university education in Music (my other love), I have continued with my artistic outlet, producing acrylic paintings in a realism style, on a commission basis.

My preferred medium is Acrylic paint, I love the depth of layering you can achieve and the ability to add fine detail. I also often dabble in Wet Felting to create whimsical, painted-like sceneries too. However, ever since my Granny’s horse drawing, animal portraiture has been my absolute favourite outlet. I love working on a piece that holds such personal meaning to the owner, and we all know how much we love our pets!
