Let’s be clear: when choosing the best place to stay in Wadi Rum, you want certain criteria met.

Well, Wadi Rum Dream Camp can offer all of these things and more!
Underneath, we have highlighted everything you can expect when staying at Wadi Rum Dream Camp and give you a rundown of everything we got up to during our fantastic stay in Wadi Rum.
Panoramic Views of Wadi Rum
This is the most crucial factor for many when choosing the best bedouin camp in Wadi Rum. It is one thing to visit Wadi Rum, but it is another thing entirely when you get to wake up, draw the curtains, and be greeted with a spectacular panoramic view of the desert.
As we have mentioned before, visiting Wadi Rum makes you feel as though you’ve stepped onto the surface of Mars, and when you stay at the Wadi Rum Dream Camp, you experience that sensation from the second you wake up in the morning.
Each of the tents found in Wadi Rum Dream Camp comes with its own private views of the desert and the otherworldly landscape of Wadi Rum.
Traditional Accommodation in Wadi Rum
Obviously, one of the biggest draws for wanting to stay in Bedouin camps in Wadi Rum is the chance to experience the traditional Bedouin accommodation.
At the Wadi Rum Dream Camp, you can choose from a variety of different room options - you can stay in mini-private ‘tents’ with their own private bathrooms, or if you prefer, you can opt for the shared bathroom alternative.
Each of the rooms are decorated in traditional Jordanian colours, adding to the traditional Bedouin feel of the Wadi Rum Dream Camp.
Incredible Bedouin Food
At the Wadi Rum Dream Camp, each of the meals is served as a buffet. For breakfast, you are treated to a full spread of bread, hummus, cheeses, fruit and everything else in between.
For dinner, you can expect a very traditional Bedouin meal. One of our favourite meals was Maqlube (sometimes spelt Maqlooba), which translates to ‘upside-down’. It is essentially a mix of rice, meat and vegetables that is cooked in a pot, and just before serving, it is flipped upside down - hence where the name comes from.
Another speciality found throughout Jordan is Mansaf. A traditional lamb dish served in a sauce of dried, fermented yoghurt on a bed of rice. It sounds bizarre, but we can assure you that it is absolutely delicious.
You will be served all meals in the communal dining area, giving you plenty of chances to meet other travellers and share stories of your Jordan adventures.
Wadi Rum Dream Camp is very good at accommodating specific dietary requirements, so if you have any questions, you can get in touch with them in advance.
Wadi Rum Desert Tours, Activities and Excursions
One thing we were struggling to find before we stumbled upon Wadi Rum Dream Camp was a camp that offered tours and excursions in the desert alongside the accommodation. This would often increase the cost massively or simply not be an option.
Thankfully, the staff at Wadi Rum Dream Camp are able to organise all of your activities for you.
During our stay, we were treated to an incredible 4x4 Jeep Tour of Wadi Rum, where we were taken to some amazing places in the desert. You can do this during the day or go on a night drive through Wadi Rum to watch the sunset and star-gaze afterward. Both are truly magical experiences!
One of the highlights for us was trying sandboarding, one of the most unforgettable adventure activities in Jordan - it’s essentially snowboarding, but you try to ride down the dunes instead of a ski hill!
On top of that, the hosts at Wadi Rum Dream Camp can also offer Camel and Horseback riding tours.
Very Friendly and Hospitable Hosts
When you step into Wadi Rum Dream Camp for the first time, it really does feel as though you are being welcomed into a family home.
Our host and guide, Abdullah, picked us up from the Wadi Rum Visitor Centre and drove us into the camp. Once we arrived, he introduced us to all the family and friends he worked alongside at the camp and introduced us to the other guests.
Throughout our stay, Abdullah would do his best to accommodate us whenever we needed anything, and he truly made the experience for us!
There is always a fresh pot of Bedouin Tea brewing on the fire, which you can help yourself to as many times as you like throughout the stay.
Yes, the accommodation is authentic, and yes, the surroundings are indeed magical, but for us, it is the hosts of the Wadi Rum Dream Camp that make us want to recommend the camp to everyone!
