How To Get To Gozo From Malta?
In order to get to Gozo from Malta, you are going to need to take a ferry. You have two options for ferries to Gozo and we will go through both options in a little bit of detail here.
Ferry to Gozo Option 1 - Ċirkewwa - Mgarr Harbour
Known as the Gozo Ferry, this ferry option takes you from Cirkewwa in the very North of Malta, to Mgarr Harbour in the South of Gozo.

Ferry to Gozo Option 2 - Valletta - Mgarr Harbour
The second ferry option, probably the most useful for the majority of visitors in Malta, is to catch a passenger ferry from Valletta Ferry Terminal.
Once you arrive at the Valletta Ferry Terminal, you have 2 ferry options:

So essentially you have 2 options when it comes to doing a day trip to Gozo - you can either go the above route and get on the ferry and wander around Gozo independently, or you can choose to go with a tour.

1. Victoria
Victoria is the charming capital city of Gozo and is the centre of all activity on the island.
One of the best things to do in Victoria is exploring the ancient Victoria Citadella. The citadel towers over the entire city and has been inhabited since the Bronze Age.
2. Ta’ Pinu
Ta’ Pinu, officially known as the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of Ta' Pinu, is an incredible example of Maltese architecture and represents one of the best things to see in Gozo.
The impressive Church lies 3km northwest of Victoria and is worth visiting during your trip to Gozo.
3. Mgarr ix-Xini
This inlet is perhaps best known for being the featured location in the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie film ‘By the Sea’. While the movie itself wasn’t a major success, one thing remains clear, they couldn’t have chosen a more beautiful location in which to base the film.
Mgarr ix-Xini is so beautiful that former French President Nicholas Sarkozy once moored his luxury yacht here for over a week during one of his Mediterranean holidays.
4. Inland Sea
The Inland Sea at Dwejra is a natural saltwater lagoon that is connected to the Mediterranean Sea via a wonderful arching cave formation.
The Inland Sea is best explored on board a Luzzu, a traditional Maltese fishing boat. The boats narrowly squeeze through the cave before exploring the little inlets and formations that are dotted around the coast.
5. Tal-Mixta Cave
If you’re looking for the best photography spot on the island of Gozo, we’d recommend heading straight for Ramla Bay. You can take the brisk 15-minute hike uphill from the beach to Tal-Mixta Cave. The view that awaits from the cave is stunning.
From Tal-Mixta Cave, you get a great vantage point to see the sandy beach at Ramla and the beautiful turquoise water in the bay. Hiking up to Tal-Mixta Cave is one of the best things to do in Gozo.
